ALFONSO S. CARDENASPHARR- Alfonso S. Cardenas, 89, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at his residence in Pharr.He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Micaela Cardenas; daughter, Yolanda Gutierrez; and his parents, Manuel and Agueda Cardenas.Alfonso is survived by his children, Alfonso (Rosa) Cardenas, Jr., Arturo (Maxima) Cardenas, Juan (Margarita) Cardenas, Blanca Lopez, Martin (Lupita) Cardenas, Jose (Elizabeth) Cardenas, Carmen (Juan) Vasquez, Claudia (Rolando) Garcia; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.Funeral Services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
