Annette Jean Henion of Shelby, MI has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.
Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.
Annette spent her working life as ['Nutritional Services and was the church secretary at St', 'Nutritional Services'] and held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.
Annette "Anne" Jean Henion, 89, of Shelby, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026. She was born February 6, 1937, in Muskegon, the daughter of Lewis Traulsen and Jeanette (Jolman) Wells. Anne started her career at the Camera Shop in Muskegon, and then started and help manage B&A Construction for many years with her late husband William. In her later years Anne worked for Nutritional Services and was the church secretary at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Anne loved to travel, with her favorite trips being fall trips to Maine, and the northeast states for color tours. Anne also enjoyed fishing and hunting and hunted deer until she was 84. She truly enjoyed the family vacations with the grandkids to Canada to fish for Walleye and Bluegills. When Anne retired from Nutritional Services, she embarked on a Safari to South Africa and shot an award winning Gemsbok. Anne is survived by: her sons, Bradley (Amy) Henion, Ned Henion; grandchildren, Kelsey, Grace (Conner), Ned Jr., Rebecca, Andrew; sister Darlene Kelch; and numerous great-grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by: her parents, Lewis and Jeanette; husband, William Henion; sister Joyce Radel; brothers, Dick and Dale Rossman. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Friday, May 8, 2026, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, 7410 W. Johnson Road, Shelby, Michigan, 49455, with pastor Kurt Overway officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Ulysses Cemetery, 1499 E. Hammett Road, Hart, Michigan, 49420. A luncheon will be provided.
