What we offer here is gratitude wrapped in remembrance.

Annette spent her working life as ['banking'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Some doors close softly, and still leave the room changed.

Annette Lawrence, 69, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after a courageous and determined battle with oropharyngeal cancer.

Annette loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Her family, friends, and beloved animals were the center of her world, and she had a remarkable gift for making others feel cared for and valued. Her warmth, kindness, and compassion touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She enjoyed a long and dedicated career in banking, serving with several organizations before retiring from Navy Federal Credit Union in 2020. Annette was also a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of Assembly of God churches from a young age, drawing strength and purpose from her beliefs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Shields; her mother, Daisy Lee Shields; and her brothers, Rudolph and Raydolph Shields.

Annette is survived by her husband, Randy Lawrence; her daughter, Raeanne Lawrence Loyed (Alex Davis); her cherished grandson, Jackson Loyed; her sisters, Jeanette Wells and Juliette Amendolare; and her brother, Randolph Shields (Sarah Shields). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A celebration of Annette's life will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 8th. Family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by visitation for friends and loved ones at 10:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Due to expected weather, services will conclude in the chapel.

Flowers and plants are welcome, or donations may be made in Annette's honor to Everett Animal Welfare Group, a cause that was close to her heart.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of Annette's doctors and caregivers for their compassion and dedication throughout her journey, including the teams at Woodlands Medical Specialists, The Medical Center Clinic, the Emergency Department and Coronary Care Unit at HCA Florida West Hospital, and VITAS Hospice.
