Archie Glenn Newnum, Jr., was born on February 13, 1958, and passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 68. Archie was a tenderhearted, God fearing man whose strong faith guided his life. He served as a respected funeral director, offering compassion and comfort to families during their hardest moments. A legendary bass singer, he blessed many with his powerful and soulful voice. Archie was known for his great sense of humor, his constant willingness to help others, and his kind spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Lewis (BJ);grandchildren, Katelyn and Garrett Lewis; siblings, Sherry McCormack, Liz Hulsey (Danny), Raymond Newnum (Judy), Gary Newnum (Theresa), and Leanne Singley (Darrell); numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in passing by his parents, Rev. Archie & Georgia Newnum; sister, Glenna Gunning; niece, Nichole Goff; brother-in-law, James McCormack. Family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at New Hope Baptist Church, 543 Marcantel Road, DeQuincy, Louisiana. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at New Hope Baptist Church, 543 Marcantel Road, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Pastor Roland Hebert will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oretta Cemetery, singer, Louisiana.
