Brian Keith Wandall of Newark Valley, NY, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.
Here is what we wish the world to know of Brian.
It is in the silence afterward that we hear how loud a life was.
Brian Keith Wandall, born December 4, 1975, was welcomed into heaven and into the arms of Jesus Christ on May 2, 2026. Awaiting him in heaven were his parents, Doug and Connie Wandall, along with cherished aunts, uncles, and grandparents who went before him.
Brian attended Newark Valley High School, where he played football and formed friendships that he carried throughout his life.
Brian built his life on the value of hard work. From his early days working on local dairy farms to mason tending, and eventually dedicating 25 years to his trade through Laborers Local 1058 and IUOE Local 450, Brian took pride in every job he did. He worked outdoors and wasn't afraid of long days or tough conditions, earning the respect of those he worked alongside. His work carried him across the country, where he built lasting friendships and a brotherhood he deeply valued.
Brian wasn't one to talk much about himself, but he could tell a story like no one else. He had a gift for humor, a well-timed joke, and words of encouragement that stayed with you. He was simple, spoke what others were thinking, and carried a boldness about him. He showed up, worked hard, and cared deeply, without needing recognition.
He valued independence and carried himself with quiet strength, handling his own business without wanting to burden others. That was Brian-strong, capable, and thoughtful in ways that didn't always ask to be seen, but were always felt and will always be etched in our hearts.
Brian loved and trusted Jesus deeply. He also had a few well-known dislikes-onions, New York winters, and "BS" (drama of any kind). He could always be counted on to ask, "Is there onions in this?" before taking a bite. If you were teased by Brian, you were loved by Brian. It was his way-picking on people, joking, and giving a hard time was simply how he showed affection.
He cherished relationships and created family wherever he went. He is survived by his siblings, Wayne Wandall; April (Nick) Harford; and Jessica (Bill) Reynolds; his daughter, Morganne Wandall; his beloved nephews Owen and Seth, and nieces Addison, Kali, and Amber; along with many aunts and cousins.
Brian also had a very special bond with the Howland family, who were truly family to him in every way that mattered. He shared a close connection with his Uncle Mike and Aunt Nancy in Florida, a place that became a second home to him over the years.
And by his side through it all was his faithful dog, Doctor Pickles. Their bond was unmistakable-she was more than a pet; she was his travel companion and trusty sidekick.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig Street, Newark Valley, NY from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A service celebrating his life will be held immediately following.
His memory will remind us to live with purpose, passion, and heart.
