CLAYTON GRANVILLE CUPP of Middlesboro, KY, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

These few paragraphs cannot hold a life, but they may carry a memory.

CLAYTON spent his working life as ['many jobs over his lifetime'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Some legacies are not written; they walk the earth, named after those who came before.

Clayton Granville Cupp, age 85, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away May 3, 2026 at the Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital.

He was born on December 6, 1940 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Clay and Irene Price Cupp, who precede him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Barb and Jim Buttery, son-in-law Eugene Turnbill, son-in-law Donnie Miracle, great granddaughter Leslie Belle Greene Bates, great grandson Mykel Maxwell, and Faye, his childhood sweetheart and mother of his children.

Clayton had worked at many jobs over his lifetime. His longest career was spent driving a tractor and trailer where he enjoyed his trips and miles down the highway; he loved seeing the country and meeting many folks along the way. He always had a ready smile and a story to tell and a yarn to spin. He accepted Christ as a young man and always believed in Jesus. He had a heart of gold, and many people would tell you that he had helped them in some way, and that he was very sweet and was so thoughtful. He would do and go without if it meant helping someone else.

Left behind to miss him, his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Linda Cupp. Don was always there to help dad; checking on him about every day. He also leaves his sister, Carol Cupp, who was just a phone call away; his children, Teresa Cupp and Dennie Halcomb, Clayton Allen and Lisa Cupp, Vicky and Jesse Hoskins, Tammy and John Miller, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many other family members, loved ones and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family of Clayton Cupp will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Wilson presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Green Hills Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses, or make a donation in dad's name at the church or charity of your choice.

Green Hills Funeral Home, Middlesboro, is honored to serve the Cupp Family.
