Cynthia Cathey Wilson of Anderson, SC has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Cynthia held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.
Cynthia Ann Cathey Wilson, 93, widow of Wayne Nathan Wilson, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Reece Fant and Ruby Bryan Cathey. Cynthia worked in the office at Starr-Iva Middle School for 25 years. Cynthia loved sitting on her porch watching the birds and enjoying her plants. Her favorite colors were pink and purple. Cynthia loved sparkly bracelets and wore one every day . She loved the springtime and looked forward to spring coming every year. Cynthia loved her family fiercely, and was very grateful for her many friends. Most of all, Cynthia was a woman of faith who loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ with whom she now resides. She was a member of Hope Fellowship.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jayne Wilson Reich (Michael) and Julie McClellan; five grandchildren, Ben Weir (Christina), Jake Weir (Amberley), Matthew McClellan (Noelle), Luke McClellan (Ashley), and Bethany Garrison (Dallas); eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bob Cathey (Leila Ann) and Jack Cathey (Linda Sue).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Mark Gasque. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the mortuary.
