Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Mae McLeod will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Hepzibah Cemetery. Mrs. McLeod, age 79, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Lawrence County Hospital. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service, beginning at 10:00 am at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.Daisy Mae McLeod was born on April 3, 1947 in Jones County, MS to Hugh and Ethel Landrum Dement. One of 13 children, she was raised in Forest, MS. Daisy's greatest joy was her family and she will be remembered as a caring mother, and a wonderful cook, who took pride in providing a meticulously clean and loving home for her family. Mrs. McLeod was of the Baptist faith.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Herbert R. McLeod, III; her grandson, Tyler Joseph McLeod; sisters, Frances Decker, Mary Snellgrove, Jewel Trest; and her brothers, Thomas Dement and Hughie Dement.Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Herbert R. McLeod, Jr. of Monticello; son, Quentin G. McLeod (Christy) of Monticello; daughter, Teresa St. Amant (Ronnie) of Richland; sisters, Myrtle Moore, Dorothy Harris, both of Forest, Ellen Ross of Colorado, Stella Montgomery of Grenada, Norma Merchant of Oregon; brothers, Pat Dement of Sandersville, Michael Dement of Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.Online condolences and a guest registry are available at www.saultersmoorefuneralhome.com
