What Dallin loved
Faith

Dallin Mangelson of Washington, UT, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Some lives speak quietly; his is one such story.

Dallin held deeply to the Latter-day Saints faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

The community of faith holds its own well — and Dallin was held.

Dallin Michael Mangelson, 24, of Hurricane, Utah, passed away on May 1, 2026. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend whose presence brought energy, laughter, and strength to everyone who knew him.

Dallin was known for his driven nature, quick wit, and deep curiosity about the world around him. He had a sharp mind and a love of learning, always seeking to better himself and those around him. He also had a natural gift for humor. He always knew how to crack a joke, making everyone around him smile. Confident and full of life, he approached each day with purpose and passion.

A talented welder by trade, Dallin took pride in his work and the skill he developed. Outside of work, he was naturally athletic, always ready to jump into a new challenge. More than anything, Dallin was a "hype man" to those he loved. He was encouraging, uplifting, and fiercely supportive. He had a rare ability to make people feel seen, valued, and capable.

Dallin is survived by his loving girlfriend, Kailana Matsuoka; his mother, Michelle Lee Mangelson; his father, Jason Jerry Mangelson; his sisters, Meleah (Bryce) Holiday and their children Brooklyn, Brock, and Bronson; Miranda (Eduardo) Arreola and their children Victoria and Isabella; Mallory (JD) Cook and their children Carter, Paisley, and Collin; and his brother, Spencer Mangelson. He was deeply loved by his family and held a special bond with each of them.

Dallin will be remembered for his loyalty, his confidence, his passion for life, and his ability to bring people together. He was a friend to everyone he met and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

His life, though far too short, was lived fully and with intention. He will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of those who love him.
