David "Pooh Bear" Moore of Charleston, AR, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.
What follows is a brief look at the life his family wishes to share.
David spent his working life as ['the sawmill with his dad and brothers'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
Some legacies are not written; they walk the earth, named after those who came before.
David “Pooh Bear” Bradley Moore, who resided south of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 22, 1960, in Ozark, Arkansas, to O.C. Moore, Jr. and Patsy (Bradley) Moore. He was 66 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, O.C. Moore, Jr.Pooh wore a lot of hats in his life. Alongside hog farming, he was a trucker, worked at the sawmill with his dad and brothers, and spent years as a carpenter, mechanic, welder, and horseman. He was the kind of man who could do just about anything with his hands, and he did it all with grit, determination, and the familiar sight of a cigar in the corner of his mouth—usually chewed more than smoked. But of all the titles he carried, the ones he treasured most were the ones rooted in love: father, Pawpaw, and husband. More than anything in this world, Pooh loved his girls. Being their father was the role he held closest to his heart, and he was never happier than when he was loving, guiding, and providing for them. And if there was one title that brought him just as much pride, it was being Pawpaw. He loved his grandbabies with his whole heart and found so much joy in every moment spent with them. Being their Pawpaw was one of his greatest blessings and one of his favorite things in life. He loved each of them deeply and made sure they always knew it.Above all, Pooh was a devoted and faithful husband to his “Big Momma.” Their love was steady, enduring, and built on years of loyalty, partnership, and devotion. Through all of life’s seasons, he stood by her side, loving her faithfully and wholeheartedly. That love, along with the love he gave his family, will be remembered always.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Mr. Larry Bean and Bro.
