Debra "Debbie Adams" Shurtleff of Taunton, MA, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.
Here is what mattered, in the years between the dates.
The years gathered, as years do, into a life.
Debra "Debbie" (Adams) Shurtleff, age 66, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Todd Shurtleff for 45 wonderful years.
Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on February 21, 1960, to Barbara Louise (Lewis) Adams and the late William Carlton Adams, Debbie lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and grace. She took great pleasure in cooking and found joy in preparing meals for others, especially delighting in crafting dishes for her husband. Every meal she made was delicious and lovingly prepared from scratch, earning her much admiration from friends and family. However, the exception to her culinary excellence was the joke of her "Special Casserole," which became a lighthearted tradition in their home.
Photography was another hobby of Debbie's but she had a natural talent for it and loved taking pictures of hummingbirds, anything in nature and her family. Her attention to detail and ability to capture special moments made her photos truly memorable.
Debbie was also a parishioner at Cornerstone Community Church in Lakeville, MA. She treasured life's simple things and found endless joy in the companionship of her beloved dog Lucy. Her gentle spirit and loving nature touched everyone she met. Debra's devotion to her family was unwavering, and her home always created a welcoming space where friends and loved ones felt cherished, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who visited.
Throughout life's challenges and triumphs, Debbie had been blessed with a caring, loving, and supportive family, church family, and friends. Their unwavering encouragement and compassion carried her through even the most difficult times. The strength of these relationships fostered resilience and hope.
In addition to her devoted husband Todd Shurtleff, Debbie is survived by her mother Barbara L. (Lewis) Adams, her sister Cheryl L. (Adams) Bois and her late husband Steven P. Bois, sister-in-law Cindy (Shurtleff) Andre and her husband Joseph Andre, her other sister-in-law Louanne Shurtleff and her brother-in-law Hal Shurtleff Jr. and his wife Lydia Shurtleff, along with several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her generous heart, her radiant smile, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
