Debra Johnson Crocker of Painted Post, NY has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.
These few paragraphs cannot hold a life, but they may carry a memory.
Quiet kindness echoes longest.
Debra Johnson Crocker, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Cadance at Garner. She was born on April 12, 1952 in Corning, NY to the late Walter and Clarice Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Crocker.
Debra was a Registered Nurse at Duke University Medical Center in the Coronary Care Unit and retired after 35+ years of service. She enjoyed many crafts, but became very skilled in quilting in recent years. She and her sister enjoyed traveling to beaches and soaking up the sun! She was a Cat Lover and is survived by Sherlock, Munchkin and Ricochet who have all been adopted by her family members.
Ms. Crocker is survived by sister, Marilyn J. Oggeri; nephews, Nicholas Oggeri and Kevin Crocker (Lindsey); nieces, Stephanie Oggeri-Bigness (Steven), Amanda Oggeri Berry (Clayton) and Kelli Guyot (Scott); brother in law, James Crocker (Pauline). She is also survived by her best friend, Denise Mangum.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham, officiated by Rev. Al Huffman. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Clements Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.
