The following words honor a life that mattered to many.

Service is its own kind of love — quiet, steady, often unseen.

Mr. Donald Wayne Freeman, 57, resident of Archdale died May 4, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.

He was born on November 16, 1968, in Randolph County, a son to Donald A. and Brenda Case Freeman. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a resident of this area all his life. Family and friends were his world. He loved helping everyone and was always there whenever needed. He was a true "social butterfly" and always the "life of the party"....even when there wasn't one.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Cindy Lou Gibson Freeman of Archdale; his mother, Brenda Goins (Tim) of Davidson County; his son, Donald Michael "Don Michael" Freeman of Randolph County; a brother, Tony Michael Freeman of Randolph County; a special uncle, Harley "Putt-Putt" Case (Judy) of Randolph County; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Brian Rush officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2:00-2:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Twenty-Two a Day at www.22vetsaday.com.
