Eleanor M. Parker of Pittsfield, ME has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Some lives speak quietly; her is one such story.

Some people pass through; others leave a path.

ST. ALBANS-Our precious little mother, Eleanor M. Parker, departed this life at age 97 into the presence of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2026, after a short illness.

She was born on November 22, 1928, to Raymond and Erdene (Braley) Coolen in Dixmont.

She was short in stature but feisty and determined in spirit. She was able to remain in her own home, caring for herself and her faithful companion, Gregory the cat. She was always proud to say that he slept by her pillow every night.

She was selfless and always serving those around her, never demanding any return for herself. She was a devoted wife and mother to her two sons. Her family was her priority. She did work for a number of years as a cook at Scott-Webb Hospital after the boys were grown.

She was famous for her cakes, always homemade, and beautifully decorated-for her family first and then for others as requested. She made her grandsons' wedding cakes, some elaborate, and hundreds of all occasion cakes over her lifetime. The 7 grandsons would choose their birthday cakes after looking through the Wilton cake books and she would purchase the special pan and present the cake on their birthday. She never missed a birthday or birthday card, continuing that tradition for the great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Terry and wife Victoria; her daughter-in-law, Susan; her brother, Roger Coolen and wife Sharon; 7 grandsons; 2 step-granddaughters; 25 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, John; oldest son, Galen; and her siblings: Avis, Beverly, and Guy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
