Elton Jefferson of La Grange, TX, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Elton Jefferson was born on February 9, 1944, to William Allen Jefferson and Mattie (Willis) Jefferson in Smithville, Texas. He attended Center Union School and after graduation he entered into the field of construction work.
Elton accepted Christ at an early age and attended Center Union Baptist Church in Smithville, Texas. He entered into matrimony with Bonnie May Wilson and to this union a son, Elton Joseph Jefferson Jr. and a beautiful daughter Nicole Gabble.
Throughout his life, he cherished moments spent with family and friends and delighted in many activities including trail riding and listening to music and enjoying country life.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Allen Jefferson; mother, Mattie (Willis) Jefferson; wife, Bonnie Jefferson; four sisters, Evelyn Harris, Merceta Morris, Edlene Mallard and Erma J. Jefferson, and six brothers, LaFayette Jefferson, William Jefferson, Glaucus Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson, Edward Jefferson and U. L. Jefferson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Elton Joseph Jefferson Jr. and his daughter, Nicole Gabble, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, sister, McRay Hart, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elton's legacy is one of love, strength and commitment to family. His spirit will continue to inspire and uplift, reminding us of all the beauty of a live well lived. His memory will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched.
