Everett Lassiter of Cabot, AR has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.
Below, the family shares some of what made his life meaningful.

Everett Lee LassiterA Wonderful Life Well LivedEverett was born in Corinth, Mississippi on August 17, 1936, where he spent his childhood years growing up. Everett lost his dad to a workplace accident early in his childhood years leaving his mother, Lola Mae Shults (deceased) to raise him. Everett held a variety of jobs growing up, including picking cotton. Everett graduated from Farmington High School in 1954 and later joined the United States Air Force with several friends from Corinth. He attended basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and after graduating his first assignment was in France. He later was transferred to Perrin A.F.B. Texas where he met his wife Betty Dean Lassiter (deceased). Everett was a devout, loyal, and loving husband who helped care for Betty who passed away from Alzheimer's after 64 years of marriage. They had four children Paul David (Dave) Lassiter of Mckinney, Texas, Michael Allen Lassiter (deceased), Janet Elaine Lassiter (deceased), and Angela Laureen Kremers of Cabot. Everett's distinguished military career spanned over 30 years where he progressed from an airman through the ranks to retire as a Major. He received numerous commendations during his career including the Meritorious Service Medal with three bronze oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with one bronze and one silver oak leaf cluster, as well as many other awards and medals. During his time in the service, his family relocated many times including assignments at the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Ramstein A.F.B. Germany; Offutt A.F.B. Nebraska; Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; Tinker A.F.B., Del City, Oklahoma; Richards-Gebauer A.F.B Kansas City, Missouri; Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and Little Rock A.F.B. Everett retired from the US Air Force in 1984 after 30 years of patriotic service to our country. Everett resided in Cabot and was well respected in the community. He managed the ServiceMaster Corporation contract for approximately 10 years at the Arkansas Children's Hospital after retiring. As the General Manager, he received the President's Club recognition for his work multiple times. After ending his formal working career, Everett was a member of the Cabot Rolling Hills Country Club, was an avid golfer, played with the men's group, and worked part-time in the pro shop. Everett was very proud of his "three holes in ones" in golf he achieved during his golfing career. Everett and Betty traveled the world and loved visiting state parks and beautiful U.S. destinations. Everett was blessed with eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren with the ninth expected June 2026. Everett's grandchildren include Olivia Johnson (Conway); Andrew Onermaa (Fayetteville); Kellie Eastham (Paris, Illinois); Jennifer Hawks (Indianapolis, Illinois); Erika Yates (Louisville, Illinois); Lance Warner (Covington, Indiana); Paul Lassiter, Jr. (McKinney, Texas); Phillip Lassiter (Dallas, Texas); and Nicholas Lassiter (Dallas, Texas). His half-sister is Martha Hale (Corinth, Mississippi). Everett and Betty were active members of church over the years and volunteered and gave to many different causes. Everett especially enjoyed his men's groups. Everett was an excellent bowler and sported a 175 + average in his best years in bowling leagues. He got his children actively engaged in bowling leagues when they were young. Everett was also actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America as an adult leader. His most favorite memory of many camping experiences was getting the "Polar Bear" badge with his older son David sleeping overnight in a tent at below freezing temperatures. He enjoyed watching his children participate in bands, sports, and other extracurricular activities. Everett loved reading and watching Westerns, especially Louis L'Amour books. Everett was also fortunate to participate with his son and grandson in the Arkansas State Golf Association "The Monk Father and Son" Golf tournaments which became a cherished tradition in the state. Everett and Betty Lassiter were big believers in giving back to others with their favorite charities being Veteran-related. The family would like to thank Jackson & Co. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
