Frances Elaine Huddleston of Neches, TX has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Some lives speak quietly; her is one such story.

Frances held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.

Frances Elaine Huddleston, 84, of Neches, passed away early Thursday morning, April 30, 2026. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at First Baptist Church Neches, to begin at 11:00am. There will be a visitation held in the church to begin at 10:00am prior to the service. Pastor David Dixon will officiate the service.

Frances was born on November 29, 1941, in Todd City, Texas, to parents Willard and Dora Lee Huddleston.

Elaine attended Neches Elementary School through the eighth grade and graduated from Palestine High School in 1959. Soon after graduation, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (Ma Bell). Through dedication and hard work, she advanced to the position of Supervisor before retiring after 31 years of service.

While living in Houston, Elaine developed a deep love for travel. She visited 39 of the 50 United States and enjoyed international travels to Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, and Liechtenstein, among others. Elaine also had a beautiful singing voice and won a Houston singing contest with her performance of "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree."

After returning home to Neches, Texas, Elaine continued sharing her musical talent as a member of the Norwood Heights Baptist Church choir. Retirement did not slow her down. She worked part-time at the Neches Post Office for several years and remained deeply involved in her community. Elaine was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Neches, the Red Hat Society, the Neches Heritage Festival committee, the local Garden Club, and was an enthusiastic Bunko and Bridge player.

Elaine dedicated much of her life to serving others through volunteer work at the Neches Community Center, where she was honored with a certificate recognizing 30 years of dedication and support to the Neches community.

Elaine also cherished her beloved dog, Lucky Boy, who was her faithful companion for 20 years.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her many friends, family members, and all who were blessed to know her.

Elaine was preceded by her Father, Willard Huddleston, Mother, Dora Lee Huddleston, and Brother, Charles Eugene Huddleston.

She is survived by her Brother, Roy Huddleston, Sister-in-Law, Cathy Huddleston, Sister-in-Law, Dianne Huddleston, Niece, Stephanie Rios (Arnulfo), Niece, Rhonda Deppen, Nephew, Donnie Huddleston (Tracy), and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Please send floral contributions to Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard.
