Gary A. Mighell of Naples, FL, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

What you read below is one part of a life lived with quiet purpose.

A name is a small thing to hold a whole life.

Gary A. Mighell, a decorated Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, successful businessman, gourmet chef, gifted artist, talented craftsman, devoted husband, loving father, and legendary storyteller and jokester, passed away on April 26, 2026.

Born April 22, 1950, Gary proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the USMC during the Vietnam War, where his leadership and courage earned him military decorations. After his service, he applied the same discipline, work ethic, and resourcefulness to a successful business career, building and leading enterprises with integrity and vision.

Gary had a true gift for bringing joy and laughter into any room. He loved to tell jokes - often with perfect timing and a mischievous sparkle in his eye - and his quick wit and humorous stories could lighten the mood and lift spirits wherever he went.

As a gourmet chef, he had a passion for the kitchen, crafting memorable meals that gathered family and friends around the table and turned ordinary ingredients into extraordinary experiences. His culinary talents were matched only by his remarkable skill at fixing anything-Gary could repair, build, or improve nearly anything with his hands, often surprising loved ones with his ingenuity and resourcefulness.

An accomplished artist, Gary found particular joy in working with charcoal, creating striking and evocative pieces that captured emotion and depth. His artwork reflected a sensitive soul and a keen eye for beauty in the world.

Above all, Gary cherished his role as a husband and father. He poured his love, time, and energy into his family, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, support, and unforgettable moments. His presence brought comfort, creativity, and a sense of adventure to his home.

Gary is son of Harold and Elizabeth (Gallagher) Mighell and Art Gardiner. Gary is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ann Mighell, his children Parris L. Beach (Donald W. Beach), Lisa M.
