Harry Langdon Berger Jr. of Charleston, WV, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

The chapters of his life were many; these are some of them.

Harry spent his working life as ['the Civil Engineering Department at United Fuel Gas Company'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Love, when given fully, leaves its mark on every life it touches.

HARRY LANGDON BERGER, JR. passed away, April 26, 2026, after a year-long illness. He was born in Malden, WV, to Harry L. Berger and Mary Jane Simpson Berger.

He was educated in Kanawha County Schools and attended Morris Harvey College and West Virginia Tech.

Harry began his career in the Civil Engineering Department at United Fuel Gas Company. He retired as Vice President of Sterling Drilling and Production Company(Peak Energy).

He was asked by Kanawha County Assessor, Phyllis Gatson, to set up the GIS System for Kanawha County. He did this for ten years.

Harry coached Charleston Central Little League and Senior League Baseball for many years. He also coached George Washington Girls Softball.

Harry was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife, Julia (Judy) Berger of Charleston, daughter, Patricia Kelly of Matthews, NC, son, Michael Berger of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren, Lindsey Lanier of Raleigh, NC, Tyler and Caitlin Kelly of Matthews, NC, Andrew Bossie of Grand Rapids, MI, Patrick Cushing of Campbell, NC, Evelyn Adkins of Las Vegas, NV, Jake Adkins of Phoenix, Az, Michael, Avery, Emerson and Alexandra Berger of Knoxville, TN.

Sisters, Nancy Blanton of Raleigh, NC, Jane Ellen Douglas of Charleston, Ann Berger of Carey, NC, and Patricia Robinson of Belle, WV.

There will be no service.
