Brenda held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
A life of faith is rarely a life of certainty — but always one of trust.
With mournful but spirited hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Brenda Joyce Boswell, who left us to be with her Lord. She took her next step with a true heart and peaceful abundance at home while sleeping the morning of 5/4/2026. A woman whose warmth and kindness knew no bounds, we were blessed with 78 years in her light - and for that we are forever grateful.From a quiet beginning, Brenda built a life of service, sacrifice, love and dedication. She was a loving and faithful wife of 60 years, a patient and caring mother, a true companion to those close to her and a compassionate friend to anyone who needed it. Many of her best times were with her "Material Girls" who helped and loved her through many challenges. A tribute to faith, she was an active member of Newtown Baptist Church, knew that she went to meet her Lord and she would spend eternity at peace.Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Polly and Frank Burnette and Vernon Cooley and siblings Don and Teresa Cooley. She is survived by her husband, Edward Boswell, her sons, John and Russell, their wives Kate and Kristina, her siblings Pat Autry and Jimmy Burnette and her granddaughters, Bella, Brynn and Bea.The family will receive friends and visitors between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Newtown Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA. The funeral will follow, officiated by Rev. Brandon Bishop. Burial will be held at Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Rev. Anthony Blackstock officiating.The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Brenda Joyce Bowell.
