Born on May 2, 1948, in Bishop, Virginia, Brenda lived a life deeply rooted in compassion and unwavering care for those around her.Brenda was the embodiment of a loving, caring, and supportive mother who opened her heart and home to many, embracing all as her own. She possessed a unique gift of seeing only the good in everyone, never dwelling on negativity, and this warmth made her not only a cherished mother but also everyone’s best friend. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to touch the lives of countless others who found solace and acceptance in her presence.A joyful spirit, Brenda had a passion for dance that reflected her vibrant personality. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter and dance steps formed the soundtrack of countless cherished moments. Through her love of movement and music, Brenda expressed the joy and grace that defined her life.Her proudest accomplishments were her roles as a mother, grandmother, and wife. She is fondly remembered by her son James Anthony Barbara Junior, her son Michael Joseph Barbara and daughters Michelle Annette Barbara, Angela Renee Grieve, as well as her grandchildren Angel Anthony Grieve, Amber Patricia Grieve, Justin Grieve, Zoe Barbara, and Alex Barbara. Brenda’s legacy of love is also carried on by her loving sister, Wanda Gail Fox.Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Anthony Barbara, her mother Dorothy Fox, her father William Fox, and her brother Billy Fox. Their memories live on in her heart and the hearts of all who knew her.A visitation honoring Brenda’s life will be held on May 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, located at 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL 33317. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 PM the same day at the funeral home.Brenda Kay Barbara’s life was a testament to unconditional love, strength, and the enduring power of family and friendship. She leaves behind a world touched by her kindness, a home filled with cherished memories, and hearts forever grateful for the blessing of having known her. She was more than a mother and grandmother; she was a guiding light and a steadfast source of love for all who had the privilege to be part of her remarkable journey.
