The family of Buena Mae Edwards of Ramseur, NC announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

What follows is written with love, by those who knew her best.

Buena spent her working life as ['nursing'] and held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Faith gave Buena a place to stand, and a place to return to.

Liberty

Buena Fesmire Edwards, born on September 1, 1933, in Randolph County, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 92 at Alamance Regional Hospital. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she touched the lives of many with her compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Buena was a 1951 graduate of Ramseur High School where she played basketball, was a cheerleader, sang in Glee Club and was voted "Best Dressed." She pursued a career in nursing, graduating with an Associate's Degree in Practical Nursing from the last class at Randolph Hospital in 1954. She worked diligently as a Licensed Practical Nurse, offering care and comfort to her patients. A woman of many talents, Buena was an exceptional cook who found joy in preparing meals for her family. Her love for reading and music provided her with endless hours of pleasure and enrichment. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Liberty, she cherished her time singing in the choir, sharing her voice and spirit with fellow congregants. Buena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mack Edwards; her son-in-law, Steve Williams; and her siblings James Fesmire, Dot Evington, Sarah Burkhead, Wanda Phillips, and Charles Fesmire.

She is survived by her daughter, Jodie Williams of Liberty; her son, Stan Edwards of Burlington; and her grandchildren, Derek Williams of Liberty and Sarah Williams of Franklinville. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11 AM at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Chris Smith officiating.

In this time of remembrance, we celebrate Buena's life and the lasting legacy of love and warmth she leaves behind.

Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
