Charles stood in service when he was needed; that, too, is a kind of legacy.

Elder Charles Wayne Snell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, transitioned on April 26, 2026 at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital. He was one of seven children born to Charlie Wayne and Ruby E. Snell on December 6, 1953 in Harris County, Texas. He attended Houston ISD schools and his spiritual journey began at an early age at Church of The Living God Temple 18 in Houston. Following graduation from Kashmere Senior High school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July 1972. Following basic training, he was deployed to Vietnam where he served as a Machine Gunner and was honorably discharged in 1974. He enjoyed singing, playing the trumpet, billiards, traveling, and spending time with family. Following his military service, he became an ordained minister in the Church of The Living God. Elder Snell loved the Lord and showed his dedication during more than 52 years of service preaching and pastoring congregations in Houston and Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Waveland, Mississippi. In 2012, Elder Snell moved to Columbus, Ohio and joined First Church of God, City of Refuge under the leadership of senior pastor, Bishop Timothy J. Clarke. He served as a member of the ministerial staff, Men of Valor, and as the leader of the Farmer's Market In 2013, he met Rose Marie Rolan and they were married on June 22, 2014 in Browns Summit, North Carolina. Elder Snell and Deacon Snell served together until he was no longer able to actively participate due to declining health. Elder Snell was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Wayne and Ruby Snell; brothers: Harvey, Jesse, and Edward and sisters: Vicky and Vanessa. He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife: Deacon Rose Snell; Sister: Ruby Pearl Thompson (Sam); Sister-in-Law: Joyce Snell; Aunt: Ophelia Knotts (Dorris); Children: WynnSheka Anderson, Brittany Snell, Tamara Rolan, and Travis Rolan (Sheree); Grandchildren: Jatarius (Christina), Jatandrias, Jaiden (Sikeia), Jaden, Onyx, and Remi; and four Great-Grandchildren: Lauren, Ja'lijah, Jey'Lani, and Jaye'lynn. Continuing to keep his memory alive are a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
