The family of Delores Marie Cox of Jacksonville, AR announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

Delores held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Behind the medals and ribbons was a person — and that person mattered most.

Delores Marie (Davis) Cox, 89, of Jacksonville, AR went to her heavenly home, Tuesday April 28, 2026. Delores was born November 10, 1936 in Alvin, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Susie Davis, brothers Charles Davis and Jerry Davis and son Michael Cox. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Wayne Cox, children Janeice Cox of Jacksonville, AR; Denise Batson (Wayne) of Hampstead, NC; David Cox (Lesa) of O'Fallon, IL; and Amy Boswell (Randy) of Sherwood, AR. She has 5 grandchildren Paul Batson (Liz), Lori Batson, Meagan Cox, Christopher Cox (Victoria) and Hannah Gay (Chris) and 5 great-grandchildren Ayden Batson, Ella Batson, Carter Cox, Harvey Cox and Charlotte Cox.

Delores followed her husband Wayne around the United States while he served in the Air Force for 27 years, all while raising 5 children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to laugh, tell jokes (although usually forgetting the punch line), and loved to ask when was the next shopping trip. She loved attending the yearly Cox Women's Beach Trip in Myrtle Beach, SC where all sorts of shenanigans took place.

Delores was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, AR where she once taught Sunday School and was involved in church activities. You could always find Delores shopping, reading, cross stitching, and going to flea markets.
