Edna spent her working life as ['Production Officer', 'The Tanner Company where she worked as a Production Officer'] and held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Faith gave Edna a place to stand, and a place to return to.
Edna Mae Hutchins Hollifield Ledbetter, age 93 went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2026 while being cared for at Hilltop Health & Rehab in Rutherfordton, NC.
A native of Rutherford County, she was retired from The Tanner Company where she worked as a Production Officer.
She is survived by her two brothers, Coy Hutchins (Sandra) and Bob Hutchins (Jeanette); three sisters, Helen Prince (Bill), Bonnie Edwards, and Jean Harrill (Ronnie); sister-in-law, D.J. Hutchins; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Issac Hollifield; second husband Max Ledbetter; one brother, Clyde Hutchins; one brother-in-law, Bud Edwards; and her parents, Broadus and Mittie Johnson Hutchins.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Westminster Baptist Church, 348 Clements Road, Rutherfordton NC 28139 with Rev. Buster King officiating.
