It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Elisa “Lisa” Palumbo Furnari, who departed this life on December 19, 2025, in North Port, Florida, at the age of 68.Lisa was born on May 29, 1957, in Gallo Matese, Italy, to Pietro and Maddalena Palumbo. She carried with her a quiet resilience and inner strength that guided her throughout her life, always remaining true to her convictions and her faith. A devoted follower of Christ, Lisa’s life was a reflection of compassion, kindness, and unwavering love for others.She was a loving mother, devoted partner, cherished friend, and a woman who found great joy in caring for those around her. Lisa earned her CNA certification and took great pride in her work, especially in serving and supporting the elderly, whom she cared for with dignity and tenderness.Lisa found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed crafting, with a special talent for designing beautiful, heartfelt greeting cards. She also loved to cook for her family and spent many peaceful hours tending to her garden.On August 31, 1980, Lisa married James Furnari Sr. in Bronx, New York, who preceded her in death. She later found companionship and love with her partner, JD Grigsby, who survives her.Lisa leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her partner, JD Grigsby; her daughter, Stephanie (Josh); her son, James Furnari Jr.; her step-daughter, Donna (Kelly); her step-son, Donny; her grandchildren Nathan, Liam, Taylor, Brooke, and Jacob; her siblings, Filippo (Emanuela) Palumbo, Domenick (Alicia) Palumbo, and Patricia (Bobby) Palumbo; and her treasured nieces and nephews who she loved and adored.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pietro and Maddalena Palumbo; her sister, Rosa Ciliberti; and James Furnari Sr.A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Life Celebration Center of Punta Gorda on June 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. A reception will take place immediately afterward from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.Lisa’s legacy is one of love, faith, and quiet strength. She touched many lives through her kindness and selflessness, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
