The family of Fedlan D. Watson of Wilmington, DE announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.
What follows is a brief look at the life her family wishes to share.
Fedlan spent her working life as ['data processor for several years'] and held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Faith gave Fedlan a place to stand, and a place to return to.
Fedlan Drunel Moore Watson (affectionately called "Feeda" by family and friends), age 86, was born on August 4, 1939, in Britton's Neck, SC, to the late Gary Moore and Mary Ginwright Moore. She departed this life on April 23, 2026, at ChristianaCare, with support from AccentCare Hospice services.
Fedlan was educated in and graduated from the Marion County school system. She joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in Britton's Neck at an early age. After graduation, she moved to Philadelphia, PA, with her sister, Priscilla, and her family. She began working at a clothing factory, where she met her future husband, Clifford Watson. The two were married on April 1, 1961. From this union, they welcomed two children, Sharon and Clifford Jr.
They lived in Philadelphia until 1975, when they moved to Chester, PA, where they remained. To foster her Christian growth, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Chester and later became a member of New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Philadelphia. At both churches, she was under the tutelage of Pastor Vaughn B. Wilson.
Fedlan worked as a data processor for several years. Following her retirement, she became a foster mother. For ten years, she cared for many children and held a special affection for the infants in her care. Chester's Children and Youth Services valued her devotion to providing a loving home and strong moral guidance. As a testament to her dedication to youth, Fedlan, along with her husband, Clifford, adopted their final foster child, Marcus Quinton Watson, in their sixties.
Fedlan enjoyed watching game shows, especially Family Feud. Her other hobbies included tending to her beautiful spring and summer flowers, completing word searches, chatting with family and friends, and hosting holiday dinners.
Fedlan was predeceased by her parents, eight siblings, other close relatives, and her canine companion, FiFi.
Fedlan is survived by her husband, Clifford; her daughter, Sharon Sanders (Ranlin); her sons, Clifford Jr. and Marcus; her grandchildren: Nicole Sanders, Kenya Sanders, and Anaiyah Watson; her foster son, Ahmeer Henson; her sister, Nevater Sampson; her nephew, Lee Chester (Marla); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her canine companions, Bella and BJ.
