Gilbert stood in service when he was needed; that, too, is a kind of legacy.

Gilbert M. Molina, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at a hospital in Carmichael, California.

Born on December 9, 1945, in the Philippines, Gilbert lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1988 as a 100% disabled American veteran. His commitment to his country was a source of great pride and honor throughout his life.

Following his military service, Gilbert continued his strong work ethic with the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 18 years before retiring.

Gilbert embraced life fully and found joy in many passions. He loved shooting pool and was an active member of a billiards club in Fairfield. He also enjoyed line dancing and ballroom dancing, often sharing those moments with friends and loved ones. Trips to Cache Creek brought him great enjoyment, and he was a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland A's. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a dedicated member of Northgate Christian Fellowship Church.

Gilbert is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy Molina; his sons, Rick Molina and his wife Tami, and Robert Molina and his wife Fatima; his sisters, Linda Caraguay and Elizabeth Gironella; and his brothers, Enrique, Arnel, Rogelio, and Ronald Molina. He also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Dominic, Taleiya, Damien, Riley, Trinity, Ethan, Demetri, and Ricky, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel in Benicia. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Northgate Christian Fellowship. Burial with military honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon will be private.

Gilbert will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy of service and love will live on in all who knew him.
