A life of faith is rarely a life of certainty — but always one of trust.
Henry Patrick "Pat" Stellern, 89, of Danville, died on May 2,2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
Born on February 4, 1937 in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was the son of Harry Patrick and Louise M. (Schulte) Stellern. He was a graduate of Fort Madison High School. He went on to serve in the United States Marines. He married Barbara Korschgen on October 16, 1965, in Burlington. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2016.
Pat worked at General Electric as a material planner until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Divine Mercy Parrish. He was a member of the Danville Athletic Booster Club, and even was a recipient of the Governor's Volunteer of the Year award. Pat enjoyed farming, woodworking, volunteering at the school, sitting on his porch, and gardening.
He is survived by his children; William "Bill" J. (Brenda) Stellern of West Burlington, Iowa, Rick B. (Cindy) Stellern of Wapello, Iowa, and Kelly A. Stellern of Danville, Iowa; his grandchildren, Nick (Kiara) Stellern, Ali (Andy) Wachter, Forestt (Regan) Stellern, Tori (Cody Stice) Stellern, and Dakota (Kloey Edwards) Stellern, and his sister Sally Calvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, his sister Harriet, and brothers Tom, John, Bobby.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 8, 2026 at Saints Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington. The Rev. Father Jacob Greiner will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. until the time of military rites conducted by the Hamilton-Walters Detachment 616 Marine Corps League. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in West Burlington.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for the Danville Fire Department.
