The family of Jerome "Jerry" D. Piehuta, 84, of Brookfield, OH announces his passing, and invites all who knew him to remember him here.

A life is more than dates on a stone; here is a small portion of his story.

Born in 1942, Jerome began a life that would touch many along the way.

Jerome spent his working life as ['Supervisor with Sawhill Tubular'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Jerome was witness to a great deal of change — and shaped some of it.

Jerome "Jerry" D. Piehuta, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed into life eternal on Monday, May 4, 2026, while at home following a heroic battle with cancer. He was 84.Jerry was born on February 3, 1942, in Warren, Pennsylvania, a son to Walter J. and Mary H. (Labesky) Piehuta.A 1960 graduate of Sharon High School, he proudly joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard to defend our flag and help keep our country free.On April 16, 1966, he married a gal by the name of Beverly J. Stowers. He and the love of his life held hands for the next 49 years until her passing in 2015.Jerry worked as a Supervisor with Sawhill Tubular, who dedicated over 38 years of service to the company before retiring.He was a very active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Vienna, Ohio, where he served as an acolyte for many years. In addition, he was always helping with the fish fries during the Lenten season. Besides his participation with the church, Jerry was also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus with Assembly 0819, Warren, Ohio.In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing; volunteer work, casino trips with friends, going out to eat with his grandson Drew, floral gardening with his daughter, Shannon, and daily trips around the neighborhood in his prized golf cart.Mourning his loss are his daughter, Shannon M. Toth (Joseph), of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; grandson, Andrew "Drew" Toth; brother, Eugene Piehuta (Cheryl), of The Villages, Florida; sister-in-law, Barbara Stowers; bonus daughter, Melissa "Missy" Mensurati (Jerry); as well as countless friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; sister, Dolores Somich; nephew, Roger Allen Stowers, II, and his beloved dog, Samson.A time of gathering to honor Jerry will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4-7 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 4453 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, Ohio 44473.
