Jessie Mae Morgan, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to faith, family, and community, passed away on May 1, 2026, in Beech Island, South Carolina. Born on August 27, 1957, in Aiken County, South Carolina, Jessie’s journey was marked by profound spiritual devotion and unwavering love for those around her.From an early age, Jessie was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, having been converted and baptized at the beloved Bean Pond Baptist Church in Jackson, South Carolina. This sacred beginning would shepherd her through life’s many seasons, providing her with strength and grace.A proud graduate of Jackson High School Class of 1976, Jessie carried the values of perseverance and kindness into every endeavor. Her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of devotion to her beloved husband, Willie Morgan, and the close bonds she nurtured with a host of family members and friends.Jessie’s surviving family includes her husband, Willie Morgan; her brothers Leon (Ada) Douse, Willie (Bernice) Douse, Jr., and Charlie Douse; her sisters Bivie Johnson, Dorothy Bates, and Loraine (Joseph) Mims, Sr.; as well as her brother-in-law George Morgan and sister-in-law Elnord Morgan. She is also mourned by many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched profoundly.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Minnie Douse and Willie Douse, Sr., and nine siblings, whose memories she carried tenderly in her heart.A viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901. This moment will allow family and friends to gather in reflection and remembrance.The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Bean Pond Church, 437 S Hankinson St, Jackson, SC 29831 — the very place where Jessie’s faith was kindled and sustained. Following the service, interment will occur at 3:45 PM at the same location, drawing the final chapter of her earthly passage with dignity and reverence.Jessie Mae Morgan’s life was a radiant example of steadfast faith and enduring love. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the honor to know her, as they cherish the memories of a remarkable woman whose spirit shone brightly until the end.
