The family of Lamont Allen Sailing of Lone Rock, WI announces his passing, and invites all who knew him to remember him here.
Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.
Years are made of mornings, and mornings of moments.
Lamont A. Sailing, 72, of Lone Rock, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the home he built for his family. He was born on November 16, 1953, at the Richland Hospital in Richland Center to Kenneth and Olive "Sally" (Bailey) Sailing.
Lamont spent nearly his entire life in Lone Rock, a community he deeply loved. In 1972, he joined the Army and proudly served his country. On August 4, 1984, he married Charlene Adams, and together they built a life centered around family, raising two sons.
Lamont was a true homebody, happiest when tinkering in the garage, where there was seemingly nothing he couldn't fix. Throughout his life he held many different jobs, but two of his favorites were driving a school bus for River Valley for 13 years and being a pilot, a passion that brought him great joy.
Lamont will be remembered for his quiet strength, mechanical skill, and devotion to his family.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Charlene Sailing of Lone Rock; two sons, Nick Sailing of Sauk City and Andy Sailing of Middleton; three grandchildren, Wyatt, Nolan, and Avalynn; a sister, Patty (Pat) Kraska of Richland Center; two sisters-in-law, Lila (Mark) Kraska and Barb Adams of Lone Rock; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Sally Sailing; and a sister, Paulette Williamson.
A Celebration of Lamont's Life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center. Military graveside rites will be held at a later date at Button Cemetery.
Lamont's family invites those who knew and loved him to join them in honoring his life and sharing memories. www.clarymemorialfuneralhome.com
