Marlin May, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Ellettsville, Indiana, on May 3, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 14, 1957, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Marlin graduated from Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, Indiana. He lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to those who meant the most to him. He worked at Miller Pipeline as a welder and fabricator for over 25 years before retiring in 2019. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
Marlin married Connie May (Welding), the love of his life, on December 9, 1995. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and countless memories that will forever be cherished.
Marlin loved camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Some of his greatest memories were made surrounded by the people he loved most. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the many memories he created with family and friends throughout the years. Marlin was stubborn headed at times, but he would never hesitate to do anything for anyone. He always had nicknames for everyone and loved joking around with the people closest to him. He had a way of making those around him feel loved and supported, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather who will forever be missed by those who loved him most.
In his later years, Marlin decided to move toward God. He chose to follow Christ and was baptized on April 25, 2024, a decision that brought him peace and comfort.
Marlin was preceded in death by his father, Max May; his sister, Becky Hanson; his son, Tony May; his granddaughter, Amber Sink; and his grandson, Colton "Bubba" Rubel.
He is survived by his wife, Connie May; his mother, Carol May; daughters, Troyetta (Justin) Evans and Cynthia (Troy) Blackwell; sons, Chris (Misty) May and Kenny (Nicci) May; grandchildren, Dustin Sink, Sabra (Todd) Reffett, Korey Davis, Nicholas May, and Kaylee May; and great-grandchildren, Flora, Abigail, Grayson, and Ellie Reffett.
Visitation for Marlin will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Wednesday, May 13, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with service to follow at 1:00 pm. Pastor David Jenner will be officiating services.
While his passing leaves a tremendous void, his family finds comfort in the memories shared with him and the lasting impact he made on so many lives. His legacy of love and devotion will continue through those who were blessed to know him.
