The family of Ms. Ida Mae Frederick of Waterbury, CT announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.
These few paragraphs cannot hold a life, but they may carry a memory.
Ms. spent her working life as ['Kmart'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Quiet kindness echoes longest.
Ms. Ida Mae (Hughes) Frederick, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday April 22, 2026 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Mr. Douglas Frederick.

Ida married her childhood sweetheart the late Douglas Frederick and gave birth to nine children. Ida lived most of her life surrounded by family and loved ones. She was a proud member of Connecticut Tabernacle Outreach Center, a Christian Church in Waterbury, CT.
She liked listening to gospel, reading her bible, making jokes, gaming, cleaning, shopping and being with her family. She had a special love for gardening and her plants. She was the kind of person to tell you like it is as a way to motivate you with her bluntness followed by a sweet voice and infectious laugh. She loved children. Ida never held her tongue and loved a good fight, but she loved just as hard as she fought. She was a fighter in every sense of the word and never gave up a battle until her last breath.
