Parenthood is the slow work of love. Pauline did it well.
Pauline Caterina, age 95, was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and spent most of her life in Manchester, New Hampshire. She passed away peacefully on May 2nd, surrounded by the love of her family.Pauline shared a devoted and enduring marriage with her beloved husband, the late Paul Caterina. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and lasting connections. She leaves behind a close-knit and loving family: her children, Paula (Caterina) and Bob Brodie of Santa Barbara, CA; Gary Caterina and his partner Tracy Tinker of Manchester, NH; Eileen (Caterina) and Don Goodroe of East Greenwich, RI; and Sharon (Caterina) and Mike Hocking of Duxbury, MA.She was a cherished and proud grandmother to Nathan Goodroe, Catherine (Goodroe) Ford, Michael Hocking, and Sara Hocking, and a joyful great-grandmother to Eloise Caterina Ford.Pauline's life was rich with meaningful moments—especially the many family gatherings and beach vacations she so dearly loved. These times created a legacy of laughter, warmth, and treasured memories that will live on in all who shared them with her.Known for her kindness, compassion, and gentle sense of humor, Pauline had a natural gift for caring for others and bringing people together. Her presence left a lasting impression, and her spirit will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street in Duxbury, MA, on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 10:00 am. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
