Peggy spent her working life as ['daycare provider for children'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Time has its way of binding people together.

Mrs. Peggy Jean Carroll Carpenter Furr, 74, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home.A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Harding will officiate.The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.Peggy was born January 14, 1952 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Charlie J. Carroll and Ethel Bernice McDonald Carroll. She worked as a daycare provider for children. Peggy enjoyed shopping, experiencing new places and trying local foods (even the biscuits she burnt every time she cooked), going to the beach or on a cruise, she loved spending time with her grandkids. She was full of life and lived every moment to the fullest even through her cancer treatments.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, TJ Carpenter; granddaughter Erika Walsh; sister, Phyllis Carroll; two brothers, Johnny Carroll and Larry Carroll.Peggy is survived by her daughter, Keisha Walsh and husband Josh of Kannapolis; her partner Mark Galloway of Kannapolis; sister, Libby Clark and husband Gary of Kannapolis; brother, James Carroll of Greer, SC; niece, Robyn Colyer and husband Rob of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Tyler, Cloe, Mason and Taytum; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews as well as the great nieces and nephews that called her Nana; Charisma, Dominic, Arianna, and Tripp.
