Tribute

Richard James Allen, age 79, of Fairhope Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Rick was born January 12, 1947, to James and Anne Allen. He graduated in 1965 from Cody High school in Detroit, Michigan. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Rick served his country with honor as a military policeman and carried that sense of duty and resilience throughout his life.

Rick married Sandra Kay Bray on February 3, 1967, in Tokyo Japan. Rick married his beloved wife, Sandie, for almost 60 years, a partnership marked by devotion, strength, and deep love. They built a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys, a lifetime of memories that will be cherished always.

He had a deep love for the Lord, and his faith was a guiding force in his life. Whether through quiet moments of prayer or the way he treated others, his belief showed in both word and action. Rick found happiness in the friendships developed while he enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and cars. He appreciated every season and the freedom of the open trails, open roads and open water. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the way he lived with quiet strength and faith.

He is survived by his wife, Sandie; his daughters, Laura and Lisa. Laura (Bruce Abernethy) and their children, Rachel, Nathan and Anna; and Lisa (Ken Wolf) and their children, Katelynn (Scott Pohler), Joseph (Jennifer), Sarah, Noah, Isaac, Naomi, Rebekah, Abigail, Ezekiel, and Peter; one great granddaughter, Alana, who will all carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

He followed the famous words of Will Rogers, "I never met a man I didn't like.

A celebration of life service will be held at Celebration Church, 8180 Dyer Rd, Fairhope Alabama, on Saturday, May 9 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Celebration Church Mission Ministry.

He left a legacy that will be a hard act to follow. He loved the Lord and loved his family and friends unconditionally. He will be dearly missed and never ever forgotten!!!
