The family of Robert Franklin "Bob" Collins of Westville, FL announces his passing, and invites all who knew him to remember him here.
Below, the family shares some of what made his life meaningful.
Robert held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
A life of faith is rarely a life of certainty — but always one of trust.
Robert Franklin "Bob" Collins, age 73, passed away on April 23, 2026. He was born in Fort Myers, Florida, where he met the love of his life, Kathryn Marie "Cathi" Kingsley. The two were married on April 5, 1974. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Houston, Texas, where they were blessed with two daughters, Christy and Amy. In 1979, they returned to Florida, and a few years later welcomed their son, Bobby. In time, Bob and his family chose a quieter path, settling in the Florida Panhandle to enjoy a simpler life. Bob was a hardworking and talented tradesman, an equipment operator, and a builder. He was also an avid gardener who loved working the land and harvesting vegetables. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a deep appreciation for old western shows and the values of simpler times. A proud American patriot and a God-fearing Christian, Bob was truly a man's man. He was a natural teacher who generously shared his knowledge not only with his own children but with anyone eager to learn. Over the years, many of his children's friends, friends' children, and members of the community sought his guidance. He was always willing to help anyone in need, though he believed strongly in the value of hard work, often offering an opportunity to earn help rather than simply giving it. As his children grew, so did his family, welcoming two wonderful sons-in-law (Joey and Rod) and a cherished daughter-in-law (Jenni), all of whom he loved deeply. After his children were grown and married, his family expanded once more with nine grandchildren. Christy and Joey blessed them with Cameron (Hope), Chloe, and Emily (Kyle). Amy and Rod blessed them with Gracie, Emma (McCade), and Jade. Bobby and Jenni blessed them with Robert Alan, Austin, and Rosie. Bob treasured every moment spent with them. Whether working together in the garden, fishing, riding the four-wheeler, or watching John Wayne movies, he found great joy in simply being with them. He loved every second with each and every one of his grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Collins; and one brother, Larry Collins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathi Collins; children, Christy and Joey King, Rod and Amy Peters, Bobby and Jenni Collins; two brothers, Jim Collins (Michelle) and David Collins (Liz); multiple nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and close family friends.
