The family of Robert R Ruble of Dayton, IN announces his passing, and invites all who knew him to remember him here.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

A parent leaves not only memory, but the people they helped become.

Dr. Robert "Bob" R. Ruble Sr., age 86, of Dayton, Indiana, passed away May 3, 2026, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. He was born July 5, 1939, in Rochester, Pennsylvania to Frank Omar and Hazel Grace (Rambo) Ruble. Bob married Joyce Darlene Stanford on November 21, 1964 in Hammond, Indiana and she survives.

Bob was raised in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, where he became a lifelong admirer of the Steelers. He later moved to Indianapolis to pursue his dream of becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, this is also where he met the love of his life, Joyce. The couple relocated to New Castle, Indiana where they remained for 44 years while Bob was in practice.

Bob was deeply dedicated to his profession, often spending his free time connecting with fellow practitioners and researching ways to expand his knowledge and better serve others. Outside of his work, he enjoyed watching a variety of sports, especially his beloved Steelers . Bob was well known for his deep patriotism, proudly displaying it through his home; a reflection of his love for his country.

Bob will be remembered as a devout Christian man who rarely had a negative word to say about anyone. He had a remarkable gift for conversation, often turning a quick trip to the grocery store into a meaningful exchange with friends or even strangers. Bob genuinely loved people and took great joy in making others laugh-a talent he carried with him wherever he went.

Along with his wife of nearly 62 years, Bob is survived by his children, Cindy Dawn (Randy) Webster, Susan Lynn Sullivan, Robert Richard (Paula) Ruble Jr., Richard Alan Ruble and 10 grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Austin Lee Speece.

Per Bob's wishes, a private service will be held with immediate family. Day & Genda Funeral Home is assisting with the cremation. Messages of condolence may be left at dayandgenda.com.
