Forest City, NC - Ruby Spencer Parris, 95, passed away on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at Holly Springs Assisted Living in Rutherfordton, NC.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Fred Parris and the daughter of the late Thomas and Dora Ruth Spencer. She attended New Bethel Baptist Church in Forest City and was the last surviving of 12 children.
Mrs. Parris is survived by her daughters, Mary Ruth Alexander (Jerry) and Sharon Earls (Timmy); her son, Phillip Reynolds; 5 grandchildren, Jerry Alexander Jr. (Cammy), Hannah Bedford (David), Rebekah Wright (Hunter), Cameron Reynolds, and Makenzie Kennedy (Justin); 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 6th, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gregg Qualls officiating. Interment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens. David Bedford, Hunter Wright, Cameron Reynolds, Justin Kennedy, Josh Brady, and Brandon Badger will serve as pallbearers.
