The family of Terry Conley of Ashland, KY announces his passing, and invites all who knew him to remember him here.

What you read below is one part of a life lived with quiet purpose.

A name is a small thing to hold a whole life.

Terry Conley, 67, passed away on May 3, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by hard work, strong roots, and deep love for his family.

Terry was a dedicated steelworker and career welder whose work took him across many places, but no matter where he traveled, Kentucky was always home. A proud country boy, through and through, he carried that spirit with him everywhere he went. He was a 1977 graduate of Boyd County High School and later retired from AK Steel / Cleveland-Cliffs. He was also a member of United Steelworkers Local 1865.

Outside of work, Terry found his greatest joy in the things he loved most. He had a passion for car racing of all kinds, enjoyed collecting, and took great pride in restoration projects. Whether he was bringing something old back to life, casting a line out on the water, listening to his favorite music, or watching a race, those were the moments he truly cherished.

Above all else, Terry was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Caroline Serey Conley; his daughters, Mitzy Conley and Nikki Conley Gresdo; his mother, Dorothy Conley; his brother, Mike Conley (Linda); his sister, Vicky Daniels (Kenneth); Special care giver Dee Hale; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert Conley Jr., and his son in law, David Gresdo.

Terry will be remembered for the life he lived, the passions he pursued, and the love he gave so freely. Though he traveled far and wide, his heart never left Kentucky, and that is exactly how he will be remembered, a proud country boy, forever rooted in the place he called home.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel. At noon, a service will be conducted by the Ashland Elks Lodge 350 B.P.O.E., followed by the funeral service with Father D. Andrew Canon Garner, KHS, presiding.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Terry's memory to the Elks Charity Fund, 900 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
