What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

Parenthood is the slow work of love. Theresa did it well.

Theresa J. Bruni, age 96, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at Oak Hill Health & Rehab in Brooksville, Florida.

Born on December 22, 1929, in Massachusetts, Theresa was the daughter of the late Amos Auffrey and Gertrude Auffrey. She lived a life centered on love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Theresa was the beloved wife of Evo A. Bruni, sharing 43 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. Their life together was filled with deep love, commitment, and treasured memories. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert "Bobby" Bruni.

A loving and caring soul, Theresa cherished spending time with her family and friends and was truly family oriented in everything she did. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle presence touched all who knew her.

She is survived by her three children: Shelley Decker (the late Ralph Decker), Michael Bruni (Karen), and Audra Brunetti (Ronald); four grandchildren: Nicole (Michael), Melanie (Paul), Leslie (Brian), and Jordyn; and five great grandchildren: Makayla, Meredith, Michael, Vera, and Dylan. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
