James Darriel Phillips of Carlisle, AR has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

The chapters of his life were many; these are some of them.

James Darriel Phillips, age 77, of Carlisle, Arkansas passed away on April 25, 2026. He was born in Conway, Arkansas on May 24, 1949 to James and Joyce Phillips.

James is preceded in death by his father James Phillips and mother Joyce Phillips, brother Charles Phillips and sister Brenda Joyce.

He is survived by wife Barbara Phillips; three sons Jason A. Phillips, Justin Heflin, Charlie Heflin, and one daughter Crist L. Bryant; brothers Johnny Wayne, Jimmy Dale, David Lynn, Gerald Don, and Gary Lee Phillips; and eight precious grandchildren.

Gone, but never forgotten…

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:00 with the funeral service at 11:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Steve Murphy (Smyrna Full Gospel).
