John K. Nowak of Medford, MN has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.
Here is what mattered, in the years between the dates.
John spent his working life as ['lineman'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
The years gathered, as years do, into a life.
John Kenneth Nowak, of Medford, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
He was born on June 1, 1958, to John and R. JoAnn (Morrow) Nowak. He was a lifelong Medford resident and attended Medford Public Schools.
After high school, John worked as a lineman, traveling throughout the state. Following his years as a lineman, he became a mechanic, where he owned and operated his own business. He went on to own and operate his own trucking company, putting many miles on the road hauling agricultural goods across the region. And recently retired after years of driving semi across the United States.
John enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, and spending time tinkering with tools. He took pride in fixing things and working with his hands, especially during his years as a mechanic.
He is survived by his son, Jeremiah; two grandchildren, Jameson and Beau; three sisters, Jean, Julia, and Jody; one nephew, Riley; and one niece, Alexandra. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
John Nowak Memorial Celebration will be Friday, May 8, 2026 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM (8428 Cabot Ave, Medford MN, 55049) . In lieu of flowers, memorials to the donor's choice, St. Jude Children's Hospital or American Cancer Society.
