Joseph Scott Ballard of Benton, AR, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Here is what mattered, in the years between the dates.

Joseph held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

The community of faith holds its own well — and Joseph was held.

Joseph Scott Ballard was born May 15, 1985, and was called to his Heavenly home on May 1, 2026.He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sarah Ballard; daughter, Riley Rhodes; parents Jerry Ballard (Terri) and Donna Woodard (Tony); brothers David Sanders (Misty) and Bucky Ballard (Leah); in-laws Rod and Cindy Rhodes; sisters in law Hannah McFadden (Aaron) and Emma Rhodes; and the best of friends—Dwayne Chumley, Korey Hunter, and Cody Calhoun—who were like brothers to him.Joe treasured simple joys: a morning of fishing, a round of golf, cheering on the Razorbacks, or shouting answers during a game show. He was playful, competitive, and quick to bring laughter into any room. Above all, Joe loved deeply and made sure his family always felt that love. The loss of Joe creates a space nothing can fill, but we hold fast to the laughter, love, and memories he gave us, and trust in the promise of reunion one day.A memorial service will be held at Indian Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m.Services entrusted to Smith Benton Funeral HomeOnline guestbook: www.smithfamilycares.com
