Juanita Hawks of Crosby, MN has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

These pages are a small offering toward a much larger life.

Juanita held deeply to the Methodist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.

Juanita Fay Pearl (Winegarner) Hawks ended her earthly journey on April 14, 2026 at the age of 93 in Rosemont, MN. She was born on March 8, 1933 in Little Pine Township, Crow Wing County, MN.Juanita lived for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She liked nothing better than spending time with and cooking for her family. She also loved to travel, having visited all 50 states and 15 countries. In addition, she loved gardening, canning, playing games and visiting with friends.Juanita is survived by her son, Michael (Sheryl) Hawks of Apple Valley, MN and her daughter, RaeLynn (Ron) Ackerman of Green Lake, WI; four grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Hawks and Matthew (Becca) Hawks of Apple Valley, MN, Samantha Hawks (Stefan) Mihaescu of Jerusalem, Israel, and Stacy Ackerman (Dominic) Mancl of Oshkosh, WI; 17 great grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter due in May ; her brothers, Ronald (Angie) Winegarner of Sun City, AZ and Rollo Winegarner of Baxter, MN; her brothers-in law, Richard “Butch” (Shirley) Hawks of Hanover, MN and Harold “Mike” (Doodie) Hawks of Riverton, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.Juanita is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Raymond “PeeWee” Hawks; her parents, Donald and Pearl Winegarner; her brothers, Leroy (Darlene) Winegarner and Roger Winegarner; and 5 brothers-in-law Orval, Laurence, Donald, Lloyd and Gordon and one sister-in-law, Evelyn.Funeral Servies will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at The Well, A Methodist Church in Rosemont (14770 Canada Avenue W, Rosemount, MN 55068). A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Following internment everyone is invited to a remembrance time at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. Memorials are preferred to Hearts in Mexico (14681 Dory Court, Apple Valley, MN 55124). Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
