Services for Larry Gullion, 74, of Knoxville, will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, a burial will be held at Gosport Cemetery in Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Comfort House of Pella for their exceptional care and help in Larry's last days.

Larry Gullion was born on March 12, 1952, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Glen and Marie (Temple) Gullion. He was a lifelong resident of Knoxville and was proud to call it home. He attended Knoxville schools and worked many different jobs throughout his life, including farming, working at lumber yards, 3M, and as a self-employed carpenter. Larry was a very hard worker and a dedicated provider for his family. He especially loved his time as a carpenter and took great pride in being able to create something from nothing with his hands.

On May 25, 1973, Larry married Lila DeZwarte, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. They would have soon celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Together they were blessed with seven children and seventeen grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Lila; daughter, Lori (Randy) Lunsford and their children, Matthew, Ben, and Elizabeth; son, Joe Gullion and his children: Amanda, Austin, Autumn, and Aubrey; son, Dan (Anne) Gullion and their children: Dane, Dawson, and Driver; son, Tim; son, Ed (Jessica) Gullion and their children: Bailey and Taylor; son, Jon; and daughter, Emily (Brad) Payne and their children: Keeton, Koda, Kylyn, and Kynley. Larry is also survived by his sister, Linda Gullion; his father-in-law, Loren DeZwarte; along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Marie Gullion; his sister, Betty Gullion, who died in infancy; his mother-in-law, Beulah (DeVries) DeZwarte; and his granddaughter, Sarah Lunsford, who also died in infancy.
