These words are offered in her memory — small, but heartfelt.

Ledesma Marczynski Eulogy – April 24, 2026

Ledesma (Des) Marczynski was born in Lapu-Lapa Philippines on May 4, 1967 to Isedro Villoceno and Carolina Toring. She was their youngest child and a loving sister to Panes, Roland, Delia and Cecillia. Des returned to our Lord on April 24, 2026.

Early in life Des became a caretaker, providing care for her grandparents and then to her parents. As a young adult she married into the Guess family and immigrated to California where her passion for caring for others led her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. This career took her to many places including England, Florida and Washington State where she met and married her husband of 13 years, Scott Marczynski. Eventually they moved to the Portland, Oregon area where Des continued helping others as a CNA and caregiver. Des loved nursing and especially loved her clients, taking great joy in finding extra ways to make their lives more comfortable and happier.

No matter where Des was, she thought of her family in the Philippines, always wanting to help in any way she could. Des took great pleasure in being with family, especially the children. She would be the adult playing with the kids and taking pictures. She also never missed a holiday or birthday without recognizing it was your special day.

Des will be remembered for her BIG smile, outgoing personality, her compassion and concern for others. She is survived by her husband Scott, and their large extended families.

A celebration of Des' life will be held Saturday May 9, 2026 at 2pm at:

Happy Valley Community Church

10601 SE 129th Avenue

Happy Valley, Oregon 97086

All are encouraged to participate in a potluck, as in the Filipino tradition, in the church fellowship hall following the service.
