Lydia Jane Peck of Richwood, OH, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

Lydia Jane Peck, 85 of Richwood, died Tuesday April 21, 2026 at The Gables of Marysville. She was born April 22, 1940 in Salyersville, Kentucky in the middle of a forest fire to the late Fred Harvey and Clara Marie (Perkins) Poe, (her mom always said that is why she had red hair!). On September 1, 1964 she married William Peck and he died August 26, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, James Hornsby, Ralph Poe, Cecil Poe, Archie Poe, Gladys Vaughn, Stella Tillman, Orpha Robinson, Jewell Laughrey and Mildred Huffman. Lydia was a devoted wife, mom and grandma, she was the true homemaker. Her family was her priority, she loved cooking big breakfasts for the family, playing cards and bingo and going on vacation to a beach with her loving family. Lydia was raised Baptist and continued her faith even with declining health. She was also known to be a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed apple butter when she could get it. Surviving are her children, Kelly (Scott) Jerew of Richwood, Laura Peck of Richwood and William (Jennifer) Peck of Grove City grandchildren, Laurie (Justin) Olsen, Caleb Parish, Gus (Katie) Jerew, Harley (Chad Heminger) Jerew, Billy (Madison Hart) Peck, Chase (Cortnee Gilliam) Laird, Jacob Peck and Jenna (Zachary) Lee 7 great grandchildren Siblings, Melvin Poe of Marion and Dorothy Martyr of Virginia Lydia loved all her nieces and nephews but had a special bond with, Valerie (Steve) Ramsey, Shelly (Dean) Chapman, Jeff (Belinda) Simpson, Rhonda (Andy) Porter and Chad (Kim) Laughrey Special lifelong friend, Deana Peck of Bidwell, Ohio Funeral services will be held Monday April 27, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Dale Baker will officate. Friends may call two hours prior at the funeral home in Richwood. Private burial will take place in the Claibourne Cemetery.
