Michael A. Scheffler of Menomonie, WI has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.
What remains is memory — and the gratitude of those he loved.
Michael held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
Faith is a quiet companion through a long life. Michael's walked beside him.
Michael A. Scheffler, age 50, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his home.
He was born on June 21st, 1975, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to Alan and Dawn Scheffler. Michael attended elementary school in Evansville, Wisconsin, and graduated from Madison East High School in 1993.
Michael worked various jobs in the Madison area before returning to the Eau Claire area in 2001, where he continued to work until 2023. He had a remarkably generous spirit and spent much of his free time thrift shopping and grocery shopping for everyone but himself. Everywhere he went, he carried a huge smile on his face, always looking to make someone's day brighter. When he wasn't out walking the streets bringing joy to others, he devoted his time to the Lord.
Michael is survived by his sons, Noah Scheffler (Fiala) and Jamison Haas. He is also survived by his mother, Dawn (Joseph) Haas; his father, Alan Scheffler; his brothers, Mathew (Amber) and Marcus (Savannah); his sisters, Marrissa (Keith) and Marie (Ryan); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Devin Scheffler, in 2002; his grandparents, Lloyd and Lavone Benson, and Alvin and Odilia Scheffler; and several dear friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk Mound, Wisconsin.
